Once again, against the background of our times, the Holy Spirit has guided us to
discover the most perfect motto for our striving over the next two years! He has offered us
the tools we need to continue to fulfill our mission – the moral and religious renewal of
the world. Our motto is:
Looking at our motto card we see the reality of our motto expressed. Our Cor Mariae Shrine is found in the splendor of a rainbow, which is, as we know from the Old Testament, a sign of the covenant and the anchor is an ancient symbol for hope.
We look at the way the anchor is positioned in the picture, that is, with the chain coming from the sky, heaven. This is based on a quote from our father and founder in a sermon given in Milwaukee on December 22, 1963. There he explains that supernatural hope is
unshakably built on God, on his goodness, omnipotence, and faithfulness! In this context he
refers to a beautiful image that St. Bernard uses:
“Seen from God’s point or view, according to St. Bernard, hope is a rope that God lets down to us to bind us to himself. A rope which, seen from God’s perspective, never breaks or tears. We only must tie ourselves to this rope, as it were, to be drawn into the living God.”
During this Jubilee Year of Hope, our Mother and Queen in our Cor Mariae Shrine wants to
fill us more deeply with hope and she wants to lead us from the Shrine into the Church
and world so that we may bring hope to our surroundings.
Let us go forth as pilgrims of hope!
Blessed Striving!
Sr. Marie
